There are 3 TA alum blocks that are available for $3500 each!

These blocks had surface imperfections that have no affect on structure and are only cosmetic in nature. There have small signs on the surface where they have been touched up.

These are on-center blocks and TA has a kit to fit and align stock accessories on the front which is ~$65.

A stock intake could be modified to fit, and a new on-center intake is available.

As we all know, material and labor cost are always increasing, and this my affect the next batch of alum blocks, so this is something to consider. All internals and heads will fit and work with both on-center and off-center blocks.

What bore size and are the blocks already machined for a rotating assembly or does a machinist need to line hone? Thanks

I'm interested in one, I would like to know more about the surface imperfections, and an idea on shipping to 11803 I'm in new york. If you would like feel free to pm me the info.

thanx Charlie

Nick, are these 3.8 or 4.1? Shipping to 28001?

I need to win the lottery.:(

Maybe I can shed a little light on this thread and Nick could clean up the mess. My off center TA block was 3.900" and maxed out at 4". We bored my block 3.965" which is a stage 2 stock bore and I believe with a 3.625 stroke it produced 265 cubic inches. I think the only machining was boring and maybe decking the block. I think we also checked the mains for alignment. Just before I sold my car It dynoed at 1200 hp and it never missed a beat. Before the TA block, I went through a stage 1 and 2 that both cracked and cost me time and money. The TA block was the best investment I made.

Here are some answers:

The blocks have a bore size of 3.90"

The main line bore in any block must be checked as well as other block dimensions. The TA blocks are finish machined by CNC, and all the main lines we have seen take very little, if any, honing to be in spec. The machine work for an alum block is somewhat different than a cast iron block, but not necessarily more time consuming or expensive.

Even looking for the imperfections it will be hard to spot them. There are no cracks, just surface irregularities which occurred during the casting process and have been ground off or smoothed out.

Shipping to the East coast would be ~$250, but that price would require pick-up at a local terminal. At just over 100#'s, it come in a sturdy, custom cardboard packing box.
