I am currently stuck in the middle of PA right now with it!Weather sucks ass
Gimme a call.

I would say count me in too, but with my scary 70mm turbo I probably won't be allowed to run so why commit to something. NEWS FLASH!That might be holding ALOT of others away also.

Here's a thought, how about limiting it to any 3 bolt turbo?????????

how many people would be interested NOW!!!!!!!

our will this just move the argument somewhere else????

how many people will not come if the limit is decide to be only 67???

thanks JD

just you ??? thought ya said ya had a quite a few customer's ???

No doubt....... being > " " ......that comes with age. You started this thread, we are responding, yet you have continually poked at me and others here for participating.......... what gives.... I'm sure there are many who won't share because they just don't want the abuse. I don't have to answer to you because you twist my statements and attempt to spin anything I say. For the record, I am here to share my ideas to help the class overall, not just myself. My customers speak for themselves, and several have voiced their opinions while others just don't want the BS and attacks from guys like you and a few others associated with you.

nah... you throw your cheap shots at me and I just add a little more BS and throw them back :p hey do I get a commission for all the 66 turbo's Melissa sold for ya :p  SNOW is here now so I guess the "winter blue's" are here to stay  ahhhh the net .. what would we do without it  hmmmm what customer did I attack??? don't take crap so serious !!! your gonna get ulcer's !!

Here's a thought, how about limiting it to any 3 bolt turbo????????? FINE!

If we fit count us in Mattox/England Street car

Here is my take on the class having never participated but depending on the rules we WILL bring a car to BG to run this class. (I always wanted to see Alcohol in TSM but no one else wanted to go there). In the spirit of being a street car class one rule that would make this class stand out would be DOT tires only.
For the record we have never made a pass with Alcohol but we want to be able to have some fun on the street and track and not go broke buying fuel. Car has been a best of 10.98 on C-16 at Reynolds (where I bought the Alky kit). We have never run on drag radials either (dont own a set) but sounds like fun to me.

I cut and pasted Russ's post and changed it the way I would like to see it happen.

All competetors must go to the same gas station in the am and put at least 10gal of 93 in the tank. Witnessed by all in the field.

Head up racing ONLY!

DOT Tires ONLY
109 block
Any transmission
Any 3 bolt turbo
Transbrakes, boost controllers, 2 step rev limiters allowed
Aftermarket shifters allowed
Aluminum heads (Min weight 3550#) sounds reasonable
Iron heads (Min weight 3400#) sounds reasonable
Headers allowed
Downpipe 3.5" max
Any engine managment allowed
Full interior
Through full exhaust

way no slicks????

drag radials are great but why bring a knife to a gun fight???

ET Streets, Quick Time pro's, M&H Racemasters, MT DR, etc =DOT tire :D

Altho I dont care what tire.. to bring the car count up.

Thats why alot of people don't go to the NATS, the same BS for 20 years the fastest write the rules ie:RA.
And Grumpy don't comment your a legend in your own mine.

Looks pretty good Dave, I like the "any transmission" especially if we are using trans brakes. I personally can't afford a $4,000 2004r. I agree with JD on the slicks, if we only allow DOT's it wouldn't be a lot of fun at the starting line. THe MT drag radials, although rated as DOT's are really a tic down from a full slick..... so why not just bite the bullet.

PERFECT!! WELL SAID DAVE! IF THE RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS, COUNT ME IN!

I guess I better get the dual nozzle kit on order:biggrin:
I cant compete with the big dogs but I will blow it up trying.
Bryan

Whats with the different minimum weights with alum/iron heads? weight is weight. I doesnt affect me either way as I think I am around 3700, just a question.
Is there a different min weight for fiberglass bumpers/hoods. I dont get it.

Looks to be bassicully TSM class, but running alky.

How can one go and say it should be a 'street' car but then run a differnet engine management? IE FAST, Big Stuff 3.. Sure you can run a car with a FAST system on the street, but lord this will end up with guys from TSM drop down and kill the rest of us.

With all the bickering, and no limits on turbos, any engine management, only DOT tires, and wanting to use trans brakes, 2 step rev limiters...This kind of crosses the line with all 'street' car saying, if you run a FAST system, then a turbo 400 trans, and all this other crap some 'fast' guys run. Hell, i'd think a 2004R has to be trans only. I can see many of the TSM, or TSO guys coming down from their class and rule this one, because they will have the upper hand with all their go fast parts.

I'm not really interested in this class that much anymore, until we get some rules set and not just let anyone run who runs 93 and alky to run.

Get some rules so the guys from 10's-12's will have a good competition.

Also, would be nice if we have a point series set up like the TSM guys, and be able to run the class at many different events also, and NOT just the GS Nats.

Thats my two cents on it all...

COOL!!! ANy three Bolt.
Phone rings,Hey Cal order me one of them PTE 88 3 bolt turbos:eek:

I still say a cap at a 67,Dot tires,Heads up,Any management.

And my car is not built yet,So they are not designed around a car i own.

I really dont want a 70 turbo on the new car.I actually have a Inn 66 for it.

 this thread was for OPINIONS for the class "rules" don't like the Nat's???? NOT goin to race there ???? :p

I hope I can make some sense here. I don't think there is any real bickering. Just a little tweaking, which I don't care for, unfortunately I will respond to when provoked. there are some of us that don't care for each other and unfortunately that spills over into these threads. My stand is typically on the defensive, not offensive. Cut out the garbage and threads will go fine.

As for rules, there will be a wide range of performance levels here, no way will heads up work if we are to include all alky combinations. I believe the idea of running qualifying together, take the quickest 8 for a heads up class and allow the rest of the field to bracket with a taste of the Pro tree, serves everyones needs. It's not difficult, with all the alky cars out there, I can't see a better way to involve everyone. If you have a budget built car, the class is there to be competitive and allows for future growth into the higher budget class. Limit the turbo to 70 p trims, the 67's are already running as high as 140mph... The Quick 8 are the ones that can push the envelope. If you run against a 10 second car with an 11 second car, it's a fair race if it's bracket class... With all the trannys, aftermarket add-ons to the stock computor, a stock computor is no longer a stock computor... so how bout we just loosen up, look at the big picture and maybe we can realize just how popular these classes can be... no one is going to have the exact combo to fit the rules.... we have to compromise... thats it for now, goin home to clean up the mess outside and eat..

mind boggling  I think TSM goes threw this every year  well let's see where it goes ... keep all this up and I might need a job to get some more junk for the car :p

Keep it interesting

That was my point on the trans it can be done with less $ if you feel you need something other than a $4000 2004r. If you already have one great we don't, and won't be spending that. It is still a 2004r so that won't keep us out if the rules go that way but there aren't any billet pieces in it so when it blows it blows.

Well my point for DOT tires is if it is a STREET class running on pump gas lets use STREET LEGAL tires. If this makes it interesting at the starting line so be it maybe level the playing field a little for the guys that don't THINK they have enough turbo or whatever. Who ever gets to the other end first wins.

To address TSM guys stepping down to kick everyones butts in this class I guess it could happen but would it. Maybe there are some solid TSM guys tired of spending every dime they have trying to run with the pack I say welcome lets go have some fun..

As for concerns for engine managment I ran stock computers for years and couldn't get what I wanted in a chip so now I run a FAST and I tune it the way I want it. Used FAST boxes are cheaper than if you buy all the other stuff to support stock computers etc.

The point of having a class is for participation keep the rules open and you get more cars simple and easy. If the class gets to many of those TSM cars then you can look at splitting the class at some point but as it was as I understand last year there were only 3 or 4 cars so lets have the problem before we worry about it.

I have absolutely no interest in running a bracket class...
Thanks for listening Dave

Looks good to me. We'll be going way too fast but what the hell.....

Limit turbos to 70 P-trims? That's rediculous......What is that, tough luck for all the 70GTQ guys? If we're going as high as 70 just make it any 3 bolt turbo.
