Went out to the track last night and was finally able to get a few runs in some nice(r) weather. Track temp was only low 70's, but it sure beats the hell out of it's usual high 80's.

Boost was at 25 psi on c-12 and FP at 40psi (line off). All lanch were at 11-12psi on ET drags.

1st pass.

Rt 4.961 (Hey I go when I'm ready)
60' 1.72
330 4.976
1/8th 7.737
mph 88.78
1/4 12.646
Mph 83.04

I lifted before the 1/8th because I got 14* of KR  on the 2-3rd shift and it scared the crap out of me. I opened the hood and realized that I had snaped the eyehook for my tie down stap and the motor was kinda shaky without it, so I knew it had to be false KR. This was proven when me and my buddy Shoebox did a couple of test runs outside.

2nd pass.

Rt 4.828
60' 1.707
330 4.939
1/8th 7.685
MPH 89.22
1/4 12.049
MPH 110.85

I had 2.3* on the shifts, but no KR in the top of third. My home made ram air kit ripped of from it's location, causing me to go a bit rich at the top. Garbage can ripped off too. :o

After duct taping and new bolts...

3rd Pass

Rt 1.522 (only because it was a Mustang in the other lane :D )
60' 1.673
330 4.886
1/8th 7.628
MPH 89.61
1/4 11.975
MPH 113.47

......and I was done for the night (no cage and bla bla...)

Wow! I have to say that removing the front sway bar has made the biggest difference in the world. Went from 1.9's to 1.7's and now consistent low 1.7's, even a 1.67!

I LOVE THIS CAR!

Congrats Jorge!!!! :)

I need to get rid of my front sway bar, but I want to wait until I get the ATR rear sway bar and then maybe I can join you and Alex (blackshoebox) in the 11 second club....
BTW, did you guys run into ShouldofhadaV-8 (wishful thinking) and were there any other TRs running??

Wouldn't this seem slightly biased to hang this all on the sway bar removal. 15d in track and air temp should have something to do with the ET reduction.
Congrats on the time.

elevens

NICE:D

Did you beat the Mushwang?

I removed my sway bar too and like the way it launches.
Kind of a handful on the street though, especially with
the ET Street tires:p

Congrats! I had hoped to join you in the 11 sec club this year, but it's looking grim. Next weekend is the last T&T of the season. I can go, but I think it's going to be crowded. Last weekend I got 3 runs in in 3 hours (actually it was 2, but I got a do-over). Tough to test your combo that way.

On to the 10s with you ;)

Jim

Becareful of those 5 sec reaction times, not too good for the TC.

Thanks Jim, I couldn't have done it without your help. :)

86brick, yeah, that guy had a 9 sec mustang. First time ever that a troll wannabe shows up with a real car. :D

Topfuel, yeah, I went by the stang (64-68?) like he was standing still. I think he went 13.2 or something.

Bruce, I'm pretty sure the temp. had alot to do with the run, but I just don't think the temp would help my 60' as much as the sway bar did. I was spraying ice cold water all over the IC and making it really cold before each run. This was the first time I had done this. It worked!

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Why shouldn't the sway bar be attributed to the lower e.t's? Since it's a fact that the bar being off reduces 60' times ( on most cars, and mine included ) that will certainly effect the ¼ et's. You go from 1.9's to 1.7's and even 1.6's, that et is coming down. I experienced the same thing when I took mine off a year and a half ago.

BTW, Congrats on the new times!

Congrat's Dude...

Nice to see you join the club.:D I knew your car had it in it.

...The car launched hard and str8 and the removal of the sway bar definantly helped. Good air was also a plus. Regardless of everything else, the car was on a real good tune.

Jorge, give me a call if you are in town next weekend.

Just remember that these cars WILL break your heart if you don't know what your doing. I couldn't believe I could only go 14.2- 14.3 my first time out to the track. It finally came around for me, now that i know what I'm doing and what the car likes. It's all about getting to know your car.

I think It may have a bit more in it, I just didn't want to push it because with the broken strap, I didn't know what was ture and False knock. My 02's were still at .800-.810 all the way down the track.

I'm really happy though. :)

Congrats! Quite a big difference you've made this year! I need to get some slicks an air bag and tune the baby so I can get my car moving. I just haven't had the time this year to play like I have in the last couple of years.

If I could knock down a 1.6+ 60' I should be in the mid 11s on pump gas, but what I should be able to do and what it actually does are 2 different things.

congrats man...i was hoping to break my first 11's this year but the first time i went to the track with my te-44, the car was completely not tuned and the best i got was a 13.2...1 full second slower than my stock turbo:rolleyes: i am gonna get the atr rear sway bar and get rid of the front sway bar as well...next spring should be the time for me to hit the 11s:D
