Installing my transmission today and installed the rear transmission mount and exhaust hanger bracket from gbodyparts. Anyways the bolt missing in the picture as well as it's twin bolt will not tighten all the way. I wondering if it could be stripped or if this case has a different thread than stock. I tried the bolts my stock transmission sitting in the garage and they are the right size.

I bought this transmission as a stgII unit from a buick vendor and it came in a case with hydromatic on the side. So I'm assuming different case perhaps a different thread or should it be the same?

Thanks,

James

stripped, I would guess

I beileve all have the same thread. Would a longer bolt work?

This bolt goes all the way thru the treads. However I guess If it's stripped I could just run a bolt all the way thru and put a nut on it.

Yes, 20 plus year old parts.

I've done that---or maybe tap for a std. thread slightly over the metric size. From memory--I believe it would be 7/16 assuming ther hole in bracket is large enough. That reminds me that my spare has a stripped out hole. Better do it tomorrow.

LOT, I hope to be in BG this year on Powertour. Look for Florida tags on a GN and you'll most likely find me.

Good

Looks like maybe 4-6 will be here not counting you. STP and a friend from Bama are supposed to come up and join. Myself and maybe another from BG. Mike Schwabb from Dayton is planning on coming also. See you-all then.

Well I ran a tap through it and it looks like it was indeed a standard thread. Can anyone confirm they made made these with different types of thread on the mount holes?
