I like the PTC 9.5in non lock up converters. They spool big turbos easy and are very efficient up top as well as very durable. You will need aftermarket axles with at least 30 splines and a 30 spline carrier or spool. A lockup unit meant to be locked will cost a lot and performance is not as consistent as the 9.5in PTC converters. A driveshaft will be a good investment if the car is going in the 1.40's consistently. Which it should be if your going to be be going low 10's or faster. You will need more turbo for that though.

Im thinking of staying with a l/u convertor. You still recommend the PTR 9.5" (assuming they make this) at 3K stall? Where would I get one from? And are they noisy? Thanks!

Okay say I finally got the rebuild kit from CK Performance. Now my question is that this trans has a stage right trans brake (so Ive been told) How do I verify this and do I need to do anything special to make sure the trans brake works fine? IE do I install or not install certain parts from the rebuild kit? Thanks again.

So nobody knows? Little help please
It has the brake. It consists of a different manual valve (can see it in the pic posted), a replacement for one of the spool valves in the VB, and omission of a checkball between the vb and plate. A couple holes have been opened up in the plate also for the brake to work properly. The big holes will be obvious when you look at the seperator plate. Instructions are posted on one of these boards somewhere.

So do I need to do anything special to not loose the trans brake? I bought the master rebuild kit from CK ($450). Anything I should leave out? Thanks!

As long as you use the same manual valve, spacer plate, leave the blank slug in that replaced the spool valve, and leave the check ball out, the brake will still work.
