Turbo Stock Appearing Class is sponsored 100% by ZDDPlus™. Last year was the very first year for ZDDPlus™ involvement.

This year the purse has been vastly increased. Call it the ZDDPlus Stimulas Package since the word Stimulas is now the new catch word.

Here are the purses:

Finish first and it pays $3,200

Take second place walk away with $1,600

Third place you take $1,000

The company has added fourth place this year and that pays $500

It gets better. If you win any of the above 4 slots and obtain a silver or above win in the show car portion of the event the purse doubles! This means potentially if you won top place at $3,200 and you finish above silver in the show you walk away with $6,400. That's a lot of dinners with the wife.

Also, every year after this year the amount of prize money in each class doubles until someone breaks into the 10 second bracket. When this happens Richard Clark wants to buy that car! Check out the GSCA website for the rules.

A word of advice you will want to have ZDDPlus in your oil. We will have it available for sale. We will also have ZDDPlus™ windshield decals available at the event.

ZDDPlus™ is also one of the 2 major sponsors for this years F.A.S.T events along with Nationals Parts Depot. This is another nationally recognized event that features stock appearing muscle cars.

This is totally sponsored by ZDDPlus™

All the above figures are correct.

Our company is the largest seller of ZDDPlus in the country. The company behind the product owns the largest Turbo Buick collection in cars & parts.

On a side note we now have as our spokesperson the biggest name in drag racing for 50 years - Don Garlits. His list of accomplishments is impressive to say the least.

Brett, I guess that puts me up to 8 cents worth rite?

Keep in mind that amount doubles every year until someone breaks into the 10 second range. In other words next year lst place in the 1/4 mile pays $6,400. If that same person scores high at the car show portion the payout is even better.

So how exactly are they going to confirm that someone is using the additive? Will they verify by checking ones oil?

I copied this from the GSCA site. Makes it easier to find the rules...

TSA "Turbo stock appearing" TR class qualifying ET 13.2

The TSA TR class is intended to provide a race class for cars that are STOCK APPEARING. Unlike the TSS class where some visible mods are allowed for performance reasons, virtually all of those will not be allowed in this class. It is intended that with the STOCK APPEARING requirement, innovation will develop methods that will push the performance of STOCK APPEARING cars to a level that has not been achieved in the past. In some cases such as exhaust systems where original replacements are no longer available and haven't been for quite some time we will allow "reasonable upgrades". For the sake of these rules the term "stock appearing" does NOT mean similar to, better than, improved, really close, almost identical, should have been like this, what GM really intended, more stock than stock, they made a mistake and this is how my car was shipped, etc. Since the spirit of the class is for STOCK APPEARING cars we really shouldn't have to spell things out in much detail. This means if we can SEE it and it's not how the car was delivered its not allowed. Or put another way if you have to ask if its ok------ its not! [1]

No tools will be used for inspection beyond a light, mirror, ruler, scales and scan tool. No removal of parts or disassembly will be done in tech that requires tools. Cars are subject to re-tech at any time before or after runs. Car must have option sticker on trunk lid with VIN that matches car.

kirbans 2 cents worth

In answer to some of the above questions and comments. First thanks to Shane for posting all the important info to qualify for this class. I wll let my readers know where this info is posted as well later this week.

As a turbo owner, we are very fortunate to have a individual who not only has a tremendous long time passion for these cars, but has injected a lot of time and money through ZDDPlus to give some great cash prizes in what has to be some of the worst economic times most of us have ever witnessed.

If you have ever attended the GS Nats you know Richard Clark is always willing to help with anyones Turbo problems (mostly brake related) either for the shear enjoyment or the fact he loves a challenge.

ZDDPlus product the sponsor for this class is a needed product for all Turbo Regals even roller set ups. We now have proof of that from engine builders that build 1,000 hp engines and have torn them down and seen a reduction in cam wear etc.

As for the comment about having ZDDPlus in your oil, no we are not testing for that, however, you would be smart to have that in your oil if you are using regular current off the shelf SM oil no matter what brand it is.

I think to place in both the show portion and the race portion under this class you have to be in the concours class of the show which I believe is the stock class. In years past there has only been a few in this class. Granted it is a challenge, and I tip my hat to whoever takes the top monies or simply places in both categories.

One side note, although I am not a racer, if you are planning to qualify in this class a word of advice. Number one, it will be very tough to pull anything over Richards eyes that is visibly incorrect. Number two one of the simplest performance gains is shed as much weight as possible from the car that is not visible. At the very least aluminum front and rear bumper braces which as stated does not have to be listed on the trunk ID label.

Also note the prize monies I have listed is correct for 2009. What appears in Shanes copy above about the rules etc was I believe last years payouts. I have confirmed my figures with Richard.

Hopefully, it will be a cool temperature wise race day this year. As for the statement who has a stock appearing Turbo Regal? There are a lot of them out there based on our own customer base.

With these prize monies posted, it should be easier to convince the spouse to go to GS Nats this year, if your game plan is to participate in the TSA class.

Owned a few over the years some of which even escaped GM with decent paint.

Can't be any lighter?

BTW, from what I read in the above post and the rules, the car will need to compete in the Concours class. The judging sheet is supposedly 35 pages long. Can anyone post/provide/link a copy? It is NOT available at the GS website...

The car only has to be in the show if you want a chance at double'n up on the money.
