i have a te44 50lb inj. tt 91 chip 3in downpipe should my turbo be boosting as soon as i push the throttle rpms hit about 3500-4000 rpms before it starts building boost seems like it revs to high and no boost wtf?????

what converter is in it? have you checked for pre-turbo exhaust leaks? even a small leak will cause slow boost. it should boost fairly well with a stock converter unless there was a stock replacement put in it in the past which is usually a lower stall(in my experience anyway.)

i dont know which converter is in it tranny was built before i bought the car i had the chip set up for a stock converter

should find out what the converter is stalling at. turbo wont spool as soon as you step on the gas but should be at full boost by 3000 rpm. when i had my tranny rebuit the first time, the converter was a stock replacement but was stalling very low affecting the spool up on my ta49.

yah i know it should be fully boosted by 3000 but nine starts making boost in beetween 3-4k huh

im betting its the converter. if not, check for exhaust leaks. then make sure your wastegate puck is sealing if you have the stock style actuator.

so do u think the stall is too high because if it was a stock converter it shoud be boosting good but if the stall is higher could that be the problem with this set up i know it should be blowing the tires off the wheels right and it barely l ays rubber

no, the stall maybe too low. as i said, my first rebuild they put an low stalling converter in it and i had the exact problem as you. i have a 10" 2800 stall and it boosts very quickly. if you dont have pre turbo exhaust leak and the wastegate puck is sealing, i suspect the converter.

Pats Performance Converters In Pa. I Think I Paid Around $500 For A 10". Converter. Make Sure You Check The Other Tjhings First Before Throwing A Converter At It. Can You Call The Person You Baught It From And Ask Him About The Converter?

OK I'll say it

Why don't you try filling out your profile with some info. We have no idea where you are, what mods are done to the car, etc....

Your neighbor could be on this board and could help, but again....how would we know?

What tach are you referencing? like mentioned before, you have a big a$$ leak somewhere or the converter is waaaaaay to tight.

Supposed to be about 2400, which is adequate...i repeat adequate for a 44.

Do you hear any tapping or ticking when the motor is loaded?

I'm thinking wastegate is not sealing properly. My te-44 was pretty much instant boost with the stock converter.

If your going by the factory tach......don't. They rarely work right. You'll need a scan tool like a scanmaster to see what the true rpm reading is.

If your tach reading is right and your not seeing any boost until 3k rpm, you have some serious issues.

Check the rpm at 0# boost. This will give you an idea about the converter.

serious as in tranny issues or what??

As in wastegate issues or an overly rich condition with the engine which could be MAF related. Bottom line, the turbo should make boost much earlier than 3k rpm.

1st thing to do is get a scan tool on it to see the real rpm and go from there.

ok what converter should i use with the te44 the tt chip i bought is set for 2800 stall max which converter do u recommend and pm price thx dusty
