I hate to say it but it sounds like the driver sandbagged the stop.
I have seen it done both UPS/USPS

I once had like 50 certified USPS mails to deliver on 1 route. Instead of wasting my time stopping at each home while I know the folks are at work. I wrote up the green slips for them to sign for.. It worked I deliverd 35 of them the next day which allowed me to leave them because they signed the slips.

Who taught me this? YES a regular USPS employee.

Not to make assumptions but what if they didnt have your package on the truck. They can then keep the money for Saturday delivery, and say they attempted to deliver it. Did you get it today?

Yep,came today with a sat sticker on it

Well again sorry that this happened to you. Hopefully you will get free shipping out of the deal even though it inconvenienced you. Not all UPS drivers are the same I guess.

Just went threw something similar with work.... the driver supposedly attempted to deliver the package but never showed.... told the regular route driver on Monday and had already previously contacted ups.... Today one of the sales people came here to my work and asked to speak to me (I'm the shipping manager) they fired the driver and also are giving us a free month's shipping :D when you send out a average of 30-40 packages a month that's a nice thing :P overall I am much more happy with fed ex then ups, but with that said ups has always tried to make up for it when they f' up.

I had the opposite happen. Sold a set of twin turbo headers to a well known Buick guy, about a month after I shipped them, get a credit card chargeback. Guy claims to never have gotten them. I called UPS, UPS confirmed they were delivered and mysteriously the guy "finds" them on his front porch, a month later.

He sent the headers back and we ate the chargeback even tho used parts are sold "as is." You think UPS sucks, try dealing with Visa or MC.

Sometime UPS will deem a problem hood a no drop zone cause of stolen items.
They will def wait for a signature or come back next day.

I hate when you have to go to them to get the stuff
