About a month ago we bought a brand new camper and got it down to the campground that we park it at. Here are some pictures of the campgrounds taken today!

Nice............kinda looks like Bowling Green a few years back. Sorry dude. I'm thinking houseboat.
 
This is our worst flood in 100 years. We stayed in our camper 2 nights and haven't even made a single payment yet. This summer is pretty much ruined as far as camping goes.
 
How many days do you have to return it.......? Just a thought. I love to camp and I am sorry.
Next time I'd be looking for the high ground.....then you have to worry about wind and tornadoes.

I am in Crawfordsville Indiana but the camper is in Thorntown Indiana. We got 4" of rain overnight and they had to rescue several people from the campground this morning. We were going to go camping next weekend. Now we are going camper shopping again. We bought this camper on March 21. So we already know what campers we like. I called the RV dealer today just to see how hard it would be to get the same camper and the sales manager said the prices have went up since we bought this one. Seriously? It hasn't been a month. We may be buying one from some other dealership!

We loved the layout of the flooded one but I won't be screwed into paying more! It is a 2013 Sprinter 311BHS and they are a very popular model so other dealers will have them. We may wait until next spring to buy one since it may take several months for the campground to be operational again. This has ruined our plans for this summer. When my 9 year old son got home from school he was devastated. The 12 year old isn't home yet. They love camping and so do we.

Our camper isn't in the pictures except the one aerial photo and you can't see it very well. It has three feet of water in it from what we have been told.
 
They campground owners said the water was coming up at over a foot an hour. The best thing to come from getting the new camper was that we didnt have gap insurance on the old one but we got it on the new one. We have a $500 deductible on the personal property. The insurance adjuster is planning on going to the camper Monday! I told him he is on crack. The water just crested and they have to pump out the campgrounds. Gonna take a while.

Have you considered a pontoon?
 
Well with rubber boots on we were able to get into the camper. So here is some of the pics. If you look at the lower portion of the handle on the ford that is were the water made it up to!

We have our normal insurance and a month ago when we bought it we purchased the gap insurance. So it will be totally covered. The only thing we are going to be out is our personal property. We have a $500 deductible for property inside the camper and a $1000 deductible on the property outside and in the shed which is covered by our homeowner's insurance. The shed is still has about a foot or two of water in it so the adjuster won't be able to get inside it tomorrow. One out of the two LCD tv's is ruined as well. We will lose about $1500 worth of camping gear with the deductible. Not to mention we will get screwed when we go to buy a new one. There are about 100-150 other people in the market just from our campgrounds that will be buying at the same time as us. The dealerships know this so they will use it against us. I may just decide to wait a few months so I can get a better deal! I refuse to be screwed by these greedy bastards. Preying on the people who are in bad situations!
 
I suggest maybe widening your search to another area or state that didn't get flooded. make a 2 hour ride and not miss any camping or get screwed on the price

If the insurance guy wants to go out there you should let him! He will see it at its worst, and who knows how long he will be booked up for after that.
 
The adjuster checked out the camper today and this brilliant fella came to a flooded campground without any boots! He showed up in his fancy leather dress shoes. What a genius! We called the dealership and they have the same model and are making us a good deal and they talked to the bank we got our loan from and explained what happened to them and they are going to make things work for us so all is well so far. According to the insurance agent we should have everything taken care of this week! I hope she is right.
 
Hell, find out how much you can buy it back for...we could gut it and leave it at Richard Clarks for people to stay in...

So, how did the guy with the class C jacked way in the air in the background fare? (looks unsafe)
 
I had a thread about the intellect with the class C sitting on three cinder blocks. One of the stacks of blocks under the front passenger side tires is about to come crashing down! His camper didnt get water inside it though. The thread is titled "I love seeing stupidity!"

I am pretty sure nobody is going to want to ever sleep in ours again. It stinks so bad inside there now. The county where it flooded is mostly farmland so all the fields drained off into the creek and that is what ended up in our camper. All the pesticide and fertilizer ran off into the creek and right into our camper. Yummy!!!!! About 5 miles away there is a large Tyson turkey farm and I imagine all the turkey crap makes its way to the creek as well.
 
Well everything came out great. The insurance company ended up giving us $1k more than what we paid! Now we get to put more money down on our new one. So we decided to get a little more fancy camper. We are going from a Sprinter 311bhs to a fully loaded Coachman 320bhds.
