My 3 year old went to the freezer in the garage for a popsicle and seemed to take longer than he should, so I investigated...

I wanted to flip out about it, but he's too damn cute and he's too young to know any better. I made sure to tell him that next time there will be a good a$$ beatin' in store for him. He didn't dent it anywhere but with the end of winter dust layer I might have to run a buffer over the hood. Paint is nice but not new by any means.

Don't worry, he won't be left unattended at any car shows.

Lol.. Hes the man, already taking what belongs to him..

Tar and feather.........:)
It happens and it is only stuff in the big picture.

I'd smash his piggybank, steal every last red cent that was in it and BUY A CAR COVER!!!

I would have had a stroke, but since it is your car for some reason I find this funny :) LOL

(sorry had to :) )

It does make it easier to look at since its not mine ...I am not sure what I would have done, mine just got painted.

i don't see a need to punish the kid too bad- but it will happen again and again unless there are repercussions when it does happen...

oh boy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on which car? the regal? eek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happened last summer, we were both at a show shooting the sh&t by his TR and looked over to see his son doing some custom pinstriping with a rock. Luckily it wasn't deep, he was able to buff it out thankfully. At least he was lucky that he wasn't doing it to someone elses car! Cute kid and think was his first car show, what can you really say to him?

I was pissed off to say the least. He was getting board when I was occupied talking to Mark so he started playing with the little stones on the ground. Little did I know he picked one up. Then I see him waving is had at the front fender an see a bunch of superficial scratches. He is only 2 so what can you do.... If he was older would have gotten an ass whooping for sure.
It all buffed out in the end so all is good.

Free pass this time, next time he pays for both times,
i crashed into my dads car with my bike two days after the new paint job and just after he finished buffing it, nice big dent on the fender right on top of a 5 (five) line custom paint stripes. BTW i was warned before hand not to go near the car especially with the bike. Can you say beat DOWN. I still get nervous just walking by that car.

First off good looking kid. 2nd off WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A CAR COVER ON THAT CAR!!! Look at that dust holy crap.
I would take a day and let him help you clean the car get him involved. my kids 5 & 4 yr olds love it when I give them jobs to do. I can't tell you how much I remeber the day my grandfather let me help him wax up his 69 GS together.

Boys will be boys. This is my kid when he was about two. Has a little rock in his right hand, look at the scratch to the right in the photo on the hatch. This was a few days before I sold this car to my cousin, it didn't buff out, the scratch is still there seven years later. The little guy was very proud of his work and came to get me to show it to me. I grabbed the camera and took the photo, I laughed and cried at the same time. Don't hate on the 5.0, this one was a mid 11 sec car when 12 second cars were thought to be fast.

He doesnt have the attention span for helping me with much of anything at this stage. He was fun when he helped on the mini dozer, I gave him a bunch of dirty parts and let him get greasy. His first dawn dish soap shower LOL.

We live next door to a mill and my wife is good about not getting the garage door shut so the mill dust gets all over the garage. I had a car cover but it wasnt very soft and was a PITA, didnt fit good so I gave it away.

I showed the pic to mom, she reminded me of the time I "helped" clean the ice off her car with a metal ice scraper LOL. Insurance paid to repaint the whole car. Kinda forgot about that one....

You did the right thing - first timers get a break so they can learn
One day you will see that pic when he has his own car and shed a tear....

I don't have kids but I do have a nice GN, and I would have a hard time being angry at that little guy. Just be glad you didn't have to deal with me as a kid, I put sand in the gas tank and my sisters would scrape down the side of my parents cars with the handlebars

Felt so sorry for you that day, car came out so nice! You handled it very well.

With a face like that, how can you stay mad for long? Look at it this way, at least he didn't find a can of spray paint and decide to start "playing"!! :) That happened to a friend of mine...his boy "detailed" his Saleen Mustang.
