Going to be taking top off heater box to replace A/C evaporator. What should I use when sealing it back up? Black silicone (Permatex) adhesive in the tube like you get at Auto Zone, or get a caulk tube of Black silicone from Home Depot, or maybe that black urethane stuff in caulk tube that Ive used for windows before (also from Home Depot)?

I used some clear windshield adhesive, someone else went and got for me, but I would have used any GOOD black sealant on it. I had a leak in the rain and it was corroding my PCM connections. Finally found the leak, some RETARD changed the heater core and DINDT seal the box back to the firewall. Wow, Id like to find that guy. :D

Use what the factory would use

Body seam sealer. Go to any commercial auto body supply place. 3M makes one that paints on like really stiff paint. Its grey in colour or you can get other brands in black. If you get the proper stuff you can paint over it unlike a silicone.
