Ok, I just installed a t60, Dequick FM, aluminum radiator, 50# injectors, and a chip. Now my car won't idle, sporatic vacuum (idle related ?), and exhaust is black. What did I do? What do I look for? I've checked all of the connections took off, looked for vacuum leaks, but nothing. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: My stock wastegate has been relocated and right now it is fuly unscrewed. Will this effect idle too? I think I have to get a new one anyways so who makes one that is easy to put on (read: no custom brackets)? I have a Terry Houston DP if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

MAF is plugged in. Does it get damaged easily? It was tossed around a little bit.

I need to get a scan tool in order to set IAC, but I'll keep that in mind. Anyone else with some tips?

Alright, thanks for all the input guys. I guess I'll have to order a scanmaster from ramchargers along with my LS1 MAF, MAFT+, and uppipe (oh damn, that sucks ;) ). Once I get more info I'm sure I'll be back with some questions.

I have one for 110 and 93. Is there a wrong way to install a chip? I took that little plastic piece off the chip and just plugged it in as is. The 110 will be safe at idle if I have 93 octane in right now, right? I won't drive with the chip; just want to make sure the ****er's running right.

I think the problem is the wastegate since it is backed off fully. No one knows of a better wastegate using the Terry Houston DP with no rigging? The stock one won't mount in the right location cause of the intercooler hoses being too big.

You're wastegate wouldn't cuase the problem you describe. More likely to be: bad sensor (why I mentioned MAF) or chip not correct for injectors. Also possible bad injectors. I know you said they were new, but you never know......

Chip location

YES! There is a right and wrong way to plug in a chip!!
There are notches in the chip receptacle and the end of the chip holder .. they go together.
Also, What plastic piece did you take off the chip???? If you took the chip out of the carrier and plugged it into the ECM, you most likely messed up the pins..

Do yourself a favor and get a scan tool B4 you blow the engine..
Can't imagine tuning a car like this without 1!!;) ;)

If you plugged it in backwards.. goodby to the chip..

If your going to get an LS1 or LT1 MAF, don't for get the Translator+ and if your chip is fried, get an Extender chip also. As long as your spending money just as well get the extender cables also. This will allow you to put the Translator inside the car.
