Radiator cap doesn't appear original. The grille doesn't either. I'm pretty sure the '86 had a thicker rib every fifth rib or so. I believe it is an '84 grille.

hmmmm.. maybe the car was painted  emblems wrong on the trunk .. I'd like to see more pics of the eng compartment and under the car

One drive will tell it all...

A car with 100k miles will not be tight. Things will rattle -dash, doors, front end etc. Im sure anybody serious about this car will do a car fax also. As noted earlier, there are too many suspicious things about the car already found just from the pictures. One thing to keep in mind is not everyone has the same ideas about our cars as most of us do. The original owner may have been one of those guys that would do what ever he wants to with his car no matter what others would say, and if thats the case then I say more power to him for being his own man. Personally Ive never been a big fan of low mileage all stock cars. They dont run for sh!t and I would be afraid of hurting the motor if I tried to race it.

Buick radios had a blue/green light .. not an "orange" .... to me if you are trying to get all the $$$ then post it with a million pics

Yeah I also noticed the orange radio clock but wasn't sure if it was just a different radio option or something...

Nope. 86 grills do not have the thicker ribs every 5 or so. What you describe is a Regal grille, the GN grills are even all the way across. I found this out many years ago when a truck hitch punched a hole in mine and I had to get it replaced. They tried pawing off a Regal grill on me (the one with the thicker every 5 or so bars).

Can't say about the radio though. I'm not sure what kind of radios came in the "stripped down" GN's like this one. But I would have expected green displays though.

Speedo's a dead give away.

Intercooled sticker on the trunk is an easy addition at any time. Doesn't really mean a re-paint. The other badging looks correct.

Sure, radiator cap isn't original, but I'm not so sure that means much on a 22 year old car, even if the miles are correct (which is doubtful).

I cant say if it's 11K or 111K. Mine has 260K and it looks like it could pass for 60K.

Okay here's what I noticed. Still running R12 in the AC. It has the stock wire type upper radiator hose clamp. The clamp on the turbo compessor outlet has been replaced. The hood insulator is the original and they do get dirty when you run a K&N. I cant see if there is one on the right side valve cover.Original turbo. Notice the WG actuator hasn't been cut.The coolant and wiper jugs have been replaced. The interior looks really clean with nothing out of place other than the GN emblem on the console and the 145MPH speedo. According to some people here the non-equalizer radio with a manual antenna is supposed to have the yellow LCD display radio. That decal for 160 degrees is from an old HyperTech chip.

If I was a betting man I'd say that car has 11K on the odometer. Maybe less assuming there is some whacky adapter for the 145MPH speedo. I'm also guessing that all of the mods are from the original owner and they were done back in the late 80's. It's a good thing that guy never heard of Kenne-Bell.

Edit: The coil is original but the ignition module has been replaced.

Dave is correct. The 84-86 GN all use the same grille. All it was is the 84 Regal grille painted black. The grille changed for the standard Regal in 1985 to the alternating thin bar thick bar pattern you described. It also carried over to 1986. On the 85-86 T-Types those thin/thick bars got painted black while the GN grilled stayed with all thin bars.

I thought the easiest way to tell if it was a original radio is that it had the semi gloss/ glossy finish and the chrome 1/8th ring around the face of the radio?

Didnt the camaro have the same radio, but was more of a flat black in color with the silver ring around the radio?

I also found that the boost gauge was tapped into the fuel pressure reg vac hose, and later on down that aftermarket boost gauge there is an additional t- for another hose??? Talk about double dipping into the most important hose under the engine bay:eek: Thats a big no no tapping there!

Anyone else notice the relays on the drivers side inner fender all are drilled at different heights and the relay screws are new and shiney?

That much rust on the waterpump snout and all the nuts and bolts under the hood make me think its a 111K car.

Man Bryan you got the Eyeball from hell...lol i just now seen the boost plumbing going into the fuel reg vac

And that other link looks like somthin...or someone..lol went off under the hood

I just cant stand dirt under my hood and id be ashamed to post pics of a dirty compartment

Wish we could get some facts about this thing, I'm still betting it's a true 11k. :) A dirty, poorly modded, poorly owned 11k, but 11k none the less.

i went back for another peek and the radio bezel looks like someone was chewing on it

Actually what you're seeing there is the plastic protective film that has never been peeled off the bezel. Should be real minty under there.

Don't the seats look a little funny compared to the contrast of the rest of the interior? Also, the fabric on the front seats looks a little wavy. New fabric?

The steel pilot on the water pump will be rusty. I have shots of a still-new GN that I took at the '06 GS Nats in the concours class and it too was rusty.

Hey buddy!

I was thinking to myself and started posting, i know that bare metal parts start to rust, start out a little hazy and speky dottish, then the time it takes to get flakey is a really long time, unless the car is living in a underground vault.
Take a look at the first car, scroll up to the rubber cowl trim piece that seals up to the bottom of the hood. Do you see those 2 metal clips that hold the plastic black lines that go over the ac/heater box. Man those arent rusty, those are crusty!
The water pump snout is really rusted as they all would, so are the bolts. No damn way is it 11K, its 111K
I see a very nice car, but no fn way would i believe it was a 11K car.

This is derons car, it has 189K and motor never apart. He lives 2 blocks from me.
Not as rusty, and 178K more
Lets pick his car apart :)

It could be. Looks like sht tho. No way would I pay anywhere near that. Interior looks good tho.

I say bull sh!t on the mileage, also. Look at the radio picture. To go along with everything else already posted, the finish is wore off where it says electronic tuning.

That is not the correct radio that came in the car.
