Can I turn the gallery off permanently?

The gallery now autoloads at the top of the forum list and I can minimize it, but it reappears every time I load the page. Is there a way to permanently disable that option?

Between this and all those damn google ads, this site is getting tough to use for those of us on dialup. Takes forever. I am pretty much required to visit this site at work now.

And before you ask, NO I don't have another option other than satellite and it's $50+ per month. Even if I did use satellite I would have to put up a telephone pole to get it high enough for the signal to clear the grain elevator south of my house.

you can always disable images in your browser

click the 2 up arrows on the right side and it's gone. you can get rid of other parts of the forum too, if you want.

how can you get rid of the political views forum? I hade to see all those posts when I click on "new posts" when checking the message board. I ignore them now but it would be great to get rid of that crap on a Buick board.

We will be upgrading the board again shortly. The new software offers alot more options. I am hoping taking certain forums out of "new posts" in your user CP will be there. Don't know yet will try to let you know!

Someone needs to go to the POLITICAL FORUMS (on another site)and get their rocks off there.
I vote for no Political forum here. Too much fighting and religous BS.

I like it there. It nice to see different projects and cars. Helps keep things interesting. It would be nice to let peopl e disable it on there own CP page.

Yea.. I like it there too but it cant be enabled/disabled like that and I keep forgetting that in 2007, there are still people on dialup.

I was thinking the same thing. I read an article somewhere that said like 90 percent of people who use the internet have high speed. That seems awfully high to me, but there it is.

I agree that 90% sounds high. My brother and parents are trying to get dsl like I have and they can't get it. Phone co. says there are no more lines available out here in the middle of nowhere for dsl. Lots of people I know out here still hafta deal with dial-up. Sorry for dial-up users, but if I had to back to dial-up, I wouldn't be on the net NEAR as much.

I have to sift thru 50% non-car related topics full of political and religous crap.

I wish I could filter that out of the new posts. That's all.

It is a distraction to me, and 90% of us are not on here to fight about that garbage.

I get enough of that on the radio and TV. These posts are not changing anybodys mind, or helping to solve anything!

I agree 100%. Your not going to change anyones mind on religion or politics. (on here anyway) All that ends up happening is an argument or as some like to call a heated discussion. I know who I am going to vote for, which candidates suck (imo), my stance on gun control, how fast we need to drive and so on. You are not going to change my mind by arguing with me about it on a Buick message board.
