My 4.1 is detonating at approx. 13 lbs. up. I have the Fel Pro Wide Band 02 but can't read it because the program won't run on my new computer. Installed Razor's alky system, all seems to be working well, pressure screw is maxed, removed the alky line and confirmed flow, but the problem is still there. Suggestions please.

I had the same problem and finally found before making a wot run that holding the test button down until the engine stumbled-then after it cleared I could make a wot run w/o any knock.

I hope that works for you because I beat the hell outta my car trying to eliminate knock by making itty bitty adjustments to the alky system....BS get out on the freeway hold the speed to 50 mph +/- grab the intital knob twist it until the engine stumbles back it off a tad then give er hell once knock is gone use gain knob to fine tune.

HOW

Turn down the boost to 16psi and run 100 octane or more and see if it still knocks.

13psi is so low that normal pump gas should not knock so it could be anything from a lean condition, a bad knock sensor, downpipe hitting, valve train noise, bad 02 etc.

Could also be getting a rich knock of sorts..that's an awful low amount of boost to be running alky..What kind of chip do you have in there ? Dr Booster has a good point, you could turn alky off and run some 100 in there to see, again, 13psi is way too low for 100 as well

Car doesn't have a chip. I don't think there's an exhaust noise and the engine is quiet. Maybe a sensor. The car was detonating at 13 lbs. before I added the alky system. This is the second system I have installed from Razor. Not only does the alky system work great but Razor is a great guy. This one has me stumped.

Get the proper laptop before you blow your engine up.Thats like not running a SM ...Im sure if its got a FAST system (aka speed pro)its majorly modded, not a wise move not to monitor whats going on.Could be false knock cause ill ASSume that you are looking at a knock gauge??Or can you actualy HEAR detenation?

Is slightly modified. Purchased car as is, detonated the first time I drove it at 13 lbs. Am running Chevron 93 octane. There's no knock guage or scanner. You can hear it begin to detonate so you must back out. I e-mailed Fast asking for an update to the 95 program but got no response, therefore I am purchasing an old laptop so I can visualize the problem. Certainly appreciate the help from the board members.

Send me a gct and log file of the car knocking. There was no mention of who tuned the car before? and how far off it is.

Could be as simple as a breach in the vacuum line to the MAP sensor. Computer doesnt know your in boost and never adds fuel.. consequently goes really lean and knocks.

You need to have a laptop running the FAST and start data logging the runs. This is how you can find out what the computer sees and what it doesnt. There are conditions that require a professional to tune the system.

If the alky level on the jug is going down when your playing around with it, the alky is functioning. But it is impossible without having an eye of the vitals of the motor.

HTH.. hit me up.. i'm a novice at FAST, but can probably get ya close.. if/when you have a computer hooked to the car :D
