How many of you are running without a spare tire on board. Thinking of doing something in that area of the trunk and would have to elminate having one. Not talking about a daily driver, just a weekend event garage queen. Figured maybe carrying a few cans of fix flat and hoping for the best.

Never had a spare with my pro street Chevelle, they don't make space saver M/T Sportsman Pro spares and never had a problem.

I've never ran with a spare, except on my factory stock pickup. I keep towing on my insurance coverage so I dont sweat it.

Mark,

I doubt any of us would use the spare if we were to get a flat. When you remove the factory jack from its original location you better have a photographic memory to put it back in correctly.

Sat in on a suspension tech seminar by Tom Rix last year and he talked about putting the spare tire back in the car because it distributes the weight better over the rear passanger tire since the gas tank is off center.

The first day you take it out you will get a flat now... It always happens that way Mark.

That's why I never took mine out! I don't want to spend 15 minutes trying to figure it out and have it rattle.

Yep I keep mine in there and has not been touched . Looks brand new. I did take it out of my monte ss and when I tried to put it back it just pissed me off pain for sure to get it right:mad:

I have the jack in there but no spare. I will put it back in for show and tell. AAA is getting the "flatbed needed" call if I do catch one and have time to sit and wait an hour.

No spare here.Just a 20 yr old can of fix a flat. It's probably gone flat. I should replace it.

only thing i keep there is a 2.5 gallon plastic jug filled with alky..for back up u know if i run out while playing somewere!!:D

Used to keep a spare, was a 14" aluminum spare from 3rd gen F-bod that had the inflatable spare that I replaced with a normal tire. Actually used it once too. Now that I DD the elky, I put the spare in it. Curious what you have in store Mark:confused:

So does this mean you are going to start making a Continental kit for the TRs?

Secrets out!  Don't laugh, there is actually a ghetto cruiser around here that has one! No top secret project going on, just wanted a place to mount my Accusump.

Just keep in mind guys that if you get a flat, and you put fix a flat in your tire, that you better plan on buying a new tire. Automotive places are not allowed to fix tires that have had fix a flat in them because of the chemicals. HTH
