We got into a discussion about this over at our Turbobuick beer bash a few weeks ago. Ever notice some of the phrases people say while selling parts, selling cars, wanting parts, or even describing their cars?
The conversation started out with someone saying they had FULL this and that on their car.
I say that drives me nuts when people use the word FULL to describe their cars.
"yeah I got full 16in tires man" oh yeah? Thats so cool man!
"it's got full disc brakes up front" like it's only going to have half of a disc brake?
"Yo dog, my box has a full 15in woofer in the back" no comment!
Or how about when people make a post in the Parts Wanted section like:
GNX TURBO WANTED Loking for an original GNX turbo in excellent condition. I just lost my job so I dont have a ton of oney to spend, anybody got one laying around??
------Yeah dude, you just lost your job but you need to have a GNX turbo so your car runs so you can take your butt down to the Unemployment Office?
-------Lets say "Laying around" to make it seem like you are looking for some useless part that someone just happen to have sitting in a pile of weeds and might just give you!
Ah hu, right!
Just some observations of how people word things to try to manipulate people! Lets hear yours!
