Thanks, He did mention calling jack and that was also a no go and i think precision also. I want to say it was a big... something brand? and side by side they are almost identicle. I trust him he is well known i just wanted some input cause i dont know sh*t i just want a fast mother effer.;)

i run the rjc one best money i ever spent , cottons is also just as good only two i would run .

I think this largely depends on how fast you are tyring to go. If you are looking to go mid 10's or slower I think any good qaulity FM will work and I don't think you will see a lot of difference but if you are looking to go deep in the 9's the decision would become more difficult. I had a 10.70 car a few years ago and I had a stock location intercooler made from two stock intercoolers. I swapped it over to a PTE FM and the car ran exactly the same. It picked up no MPH or ET and the tune was dead on with both intercoolers. That told me that the car had enough intercooler with the SLIC that the FM was not needed although I am sure the FM had a faster recovery time since it was not heat soaked in the engine compartment. On my 10.70 car I don't think any other FM would have picked up the performance because it had all it needed and more would have made very little difference. At the risk of being attacked here--my buddy has a 94 Supra that has gone 9.45@145 on a stock long block and he is using a $129 ebay special front mount!

I just bought a CAS v2 i wonder where it falls amognst the big dogs?

I don't want to turn this thread into an "Intercooler War" as we have already been down that road years ago! :D

But having actual experience AND data from various front mounts, the answer of "BEST" is hard to specifically define. Some of the reasons is that it depends on the car build, use, weather and other conditions.

For street driving, except for serious $$$$ street racing, I doubt that you would hardly see any difference among them. ;)

For track, it then depends on build and HP level. Until you are into the 9's, it again makes very little difference between the IC's.

Into the 9's and better, with higher boost, RPM and HP levels, it then will start to show some differences.

Here is one example, a GN with a build identical to my car except for the IC, when running 9.90 will have an intake air temp about 140 deg. Same day/time with my car the intake temp is 120 deg.

We both run the same boost, so my IC is "better", more efficient, than his. Not a big deal at that level, but when we turn it up to run mid/low 9's, it means he will have to run more boost than I do to run the same speed.

As far as your V-2, that was the first front mount I used on my car when CAS began selling them. It would be comparable to the IC on my friend's GN, and will easily take you into the 9's.

As far a BEST of current production, my opinion would be you cannot go wrong with either Jack's or RJC's IC. They both have excellent units, and I believe they can both do an all-out racing version too.

thanks for clearing up some ic questions i had. that was great information!

I don't think your question can be answered until you define what you plan to do with the car. I've had the Precision on my car and it's much smaller than what's out now. I assume you want new as well.

like Nick posted you can NOT go wrong with either the RJC or Cotton unit... i, myself, have the RJC and LOVE IT!!!

Like i posted at top no one has RJC or Cottons in stock right now. KDK is doing my motor and was going to use them but cant find one so he said he was getting one that is identicle to those and i cant remember what brand, I called tonight and he was on a test drive[ hopefully mine] So im sure its good he knows his stuff and wouldnt give me crap.I will post when i find out what brand. And to answer how fast i was shooting for was low 10's high 9's.

right now im shooting for the high 10's since i have to upgrade my turbo....im running a GT6152. But with the turbo upgrade i will als need to upgrade ic....just dont no what combo will take me there

Maybe this is the one he is talking about because it's not an RJC and not cottons but still look pretty damn big, yet I never hear any one bring this one up in IC discussions.
