SignUp Now!I wonder if this problem could have been avoided if you were running an XFI? Would it have made the fuel correction to overcome the over rev?
With all due respect you dont need to upgrade the fuel pump, you need to get the car tuned correctly.
If the alky pump was shut off as well as the fuel pump being under control of the XFI. But doesn't the XFI kill the spark as a limiter? I could be wrong.
To the original poster. I know you feel bad but don't lose sleep or make yourself sick over a car. Thats all it is at the end of the day...a car. Fix it and get what you need for protection to enjoy it again.

An audible knock gauge is in my near future R they loud enough to hear?
The tune was fine. He has run the car 1/4 mile multiple times since it was built and has not skipped a beat.
The fuel cut off in the chip should be 6375, If he was going around 150 MPH in 3rd gear he was definetly at/near that rpm.
The XFI would not save it. the boost is well above 20#,even if it replaced the fuel the octane is not there once the alky shuts off.
Fred's car is a chip car. When the meth knob is turned down you must add fuel with the chip to compensate for the difference in meth you remove.
You may very well had no KR on that blast. The best thing to do is avoid running out of the parameters the engine was tuned for. The engine isn't making effective power over 5800rpm in that combo. No need to be anywhere near that rpm.
If you haven't won by then, they're faster.

I can't wait for that!! Honda boys around here r talking so much shyt Bc his civic went 10.9 And sense my cars down we have noone that can best him. He's talking $2-300 too. But it looks like it'll have to wait till next yr![]()
Tell him to bring that Honda west a couple of hours, I'll take his money.I don't do alot of street racing, but, I'm curious where you found a road, long enough, straight enough to hit 150mph?? FWIW, if you haven't beat him by 130... might be time to concede, live to fight another day. Good luck with the re-build. Phil.
no audible or visual warning device will help if you break the input shaft on the transmission. You won't be able to lift fast enough.

What qualifies a car as a "top end" car? Ive raced street bikes and super cars with my lowly black GN and bitch slapped them from highway cruise up to about 145mph. I just dont see the need to go much faster than that. Our cars are not top-end cars.
Sorry to hear about your motor. As a wise man once said, "Sh!t happens!"
